The Northwest UU Justice Network is announcing the "convening" of the three justice issue groups related to the areas of Economic Justice / Occupy Movement, Immigration, and Marriage Equality / GLBTQ.
The Board of the Northwest UU Justice Network sees an untapped potential to “do more, more easily, to greater effect” this year by providing additional administrative support to UU Issue Groups forming in the above areas of intense UU activity. To this end, the Network hired Issue Group Conveners to support these groups. Conveners will support each group’s formation by helping to identify potential participants, documenting who is doing what in the region, and helping the group take advantage of the Network’s web and communication resources. The Convener’s job is to “make it easy” to connect, to exchange information and to act.
The Marriage Equality / GLBTQ issue convener, Barbara Ramey, Economic Justice / Occupy Convener, Hudson Lyman, and Immegration co-conveners Barbara Peterman & Pat Gunn are on board, bringing their passion, UU values and Convener skills to our team. They have begun using our survey data to begin the work of helping you find the UUs who are working on the issues that you are invested in.
How you can help:
