Now more than ever!  For many of us, our call to pursue justice has never been more urgent. We find ourselves in challenging times, often less sure of the road ahead, while at the same time more committed to take action than ever.

This year we come together, acknowledging this unique time we live in and our role in it. We gather to hear our own calls more clearly, to broaden our understanding, to consider the challenges, to develop new tools, and to inspire and be inspired by others.

The theme of this year’s summit is Called to Action. University Unitarian Church will lead off with a pre-event Friday night featuring UU Michael Cox (who will recount the story behind his decision to publicly resign from the EPA). Saturday morning will include a panel of UUs whose personal calls-to-action span issues, expertise, and risk.

As usual, the heart of the Summit will be issue-focused breakout sessions. This year, there will be three different time slots for these sessions, giving each of us opportunity to go deep for those issues and intersectionalities we find most pressing.

There will also be an early-bird session during the breakfast hour, Saturday. Grab a cup of coffee and something to eat, and then join colleagues to discuss how congregational justice teams can gear up for increased effectiveness during this time.

Don’t wait. Register now to launch a year in which each of us can do more, more effectively because we spent a day connecting, learning, and working together.

Added bonus: The University Unitarian Racial Justice Team invites Summit attendees to join us for a Black Lives Matter vigil between services. So, consider staying over Saturday night and attending one of University UU Church’s Sunday morning services before or after you stand vigil.

Looking forward to seeing you the first weekend in October!
