Join other Yes on 1631 activists at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19 in Bellingham for our first training on door-to-door canvassing for the carbon-fee initiative.

I-1631 would assess a $15 per ton fee on carbon emissions, levied primarily at refineries, utilities and factories that emit carbon.

The revenue collected by the state would pay for renewable energy, forestry and water projects; about 35% would be dedicated to projects in low-income communities.
