FAITH ACTION NETWORK’s Interfaith Advocacy Day in Olympia brings to our elected leaders the voice of compassion and justice. We partner for the common good with people of all faiths—and with people of no faith at all—who stand up boldly to challenge the powerful.

Your meeting with legislators and/or their staff this day is the most important thing our faith advocates can do. Join workshops that will break down the issues. Get current best practices on how to advocate in today’s legislature. Learn how to prepare for briefings and hearings. And an appointment will be made for you and others from your district to speak directly with your state legislators. Don’t miss this important day in Olympia!

*Early bird registration is $15 by January 15, and $20 after.* FAN will provide lunch, prepare the materials you need, and set up the meetings with your legislators prior to your arrival.

To help us in this important work, make sure you register with a strong commitment to join us on January 30th for a great day! Soon after, you will receive details on the agenda, workshop topics, and legislative appointments.

LOCATION: The United Churches of Olympia, 110 11th Avenue SE, Olympia, WA 98501. (Parking is limited. Please consider carpooling with others from your faith community or your area.)

Also for Interfaith Advocacy Day (IFAD), runners and walkers of faith will show the state of Washington that they are willing to go the extra mile to make background checks on all gun sales law.  Those gathered for the advocacy day will assemble on the front steps of the legislative building to greet finishers who have walked or run distances ranging from 5 kilometers to a full marathon. The marathon will follow a route that goes from one faith community to the next in Olympia, Lacey, and Tumwater to represent the unity of people of all faiths and persuasions in supporting background checks.
